Meeting Asciepius...well trying to....

Good Evening All

I have always had a good imagination, sometimes I think too good ..lol.. But during this practice in attempting to reach my subtle i was so distracted that the image kep sliping away from me. I know that I can have more success with this meditation if the house was not so busy. I will attept it again when there is no one home. I do not know about anyone else but I have found over the years since I have started my inner work.. all of my senses are heightened.... I can hear like you can't believe and when my eyes are closed I can hear even better... my other senses are heightened too but wow... trying to meditate in the house with two teenagers while they play guitar hero and listening to heavy metal...yeah a bit hard...lol...

Even though I will have to try this practice again I can answer the other questions...
The saying "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" basically means that by not experiencing the thing that we are trying to share is almost impossible because we do not know where we are trying to take the person to...or have them experiencee.. Experience is the BEST teacher and without knowledge of what we are trying to share we are doing a diservice to ourselves and our client.  I believe we do have an obligation to our clients to continue to always work on ourselves... this is a process and a life long one at that...

My growth in every area of my life allows me to provide the best me to my client and they deserve that. Also as I grow I am afforded the beauty of wisdom and discernment and wtith these tools , I become who I came to this mudball to be...In my personal life it allows me to truly live and not just exsist!!!

  1. Hi Jamillah,

I can't believe you tried to relax with them play their guitars. LOL. I would have ran for the hills! I know what you mean that when you try to concentrate on the exercise that you end up hearing everything else that is going on around you. I have this problem at times and I am beginning to realize it is not the noise that is the problem. It is me. I think I try to find things to distract me. I think the best way to do this is to keep focusing on the exercise. Noise canceling headphones may also be a good option for your house!

Take care and good luck with it!

  2. I agree with Carol, headphones have been my saving grace these past weeks. Not only can I use for meditation but also for when I practice yoga.
The more I continue on this journey, the more equipped I feel for working with others. Since I am not working with clients right now,I share my knowledge with my family and friends. We're all learning together and I believe this to be extremely important.
I'm looking forward to read your experience with the meditation when you are able to get some quiet time.
    Be well!

  3. ***Jamillah, I give you props! I don't know how you do it, but I can't do anything productive in loud noises! I have a 4 year old and we have quiet time every day so that I can just breathe. No radio, no tv, no playing, we just sit and read quietly and be at peace. She says that she loves it, but I have told some of my friends that we do that and they think that it is amazing she will be quiet for long periods of time. I agree with ellen, I would be loving my headphones! Experience is a great way to teach. I feel that it is the best, if you are able to say that something worked great and how it worked, someone is more likley to try it! I hope that you get a minute of peace in such a hectic life! Have a great day! Sara

  4. Good Afternoon All

Just wanted to provide an update. I have not purchased any headphones however, I have had the day to myself and enjoyed doing this meditation. I struggled initially as I thought about all the things I could be doing while the children where not here. But eventually I was able to get my guides face in my mind and keep it there. I have had a vision of my guide many times over the years but never consistently worked with them. I think this meditation would be good to use to be more in touch with my inner healer and get to know them better. After moving deeper into the practice I found my self drifting off almost to a sleep state but I reminded myself to focus... When finished I felt refreshed and really relaxed. I would not do this particular exercise if I had other things to do as I felt that I wanted to sit and reflect on what I saw and heard during my practice and even felt like taking a nap. ...I laughed because my grandmother always said that all prophets used to take naps after their visions...(rotf)
Thank you all for your insights and I think that headphones will be on my mommy wishlist ...

  5. Well if it makes you feel any better, I live in a full house. Because I come from a reasonable size family, my sisters' kids including mine all come together at my parents. Can you imagine having 10 kids at your house. I want to be able to fully experience such feelings but as you can see, I can't get any peace and quiet. However I will continue trying to achieve these practices even if I cannot get them all.
